Volumes containing minutes, financial records, land records, maps, and miscellaneous records documenting river navigation improvement efforts of the Green Bay and Mississippi Canal Company (1866-1870) and its predecessor, the Fox-Wisconsin Improvement Company (1853-1866). Both were privately operated corporations organized to construct, administer, and finance improvement of the Fox and Wisconsin Rivers in order to improve inland water transportation between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River.
